Just noticed in the July Flying magazine, there’s an article by Peter Garrison about an ultralight that crashed – it had a BRS parachute which was deployed but didn’t help. I don’t have the article in front of me as I write this but I believe the chute got tangled up in the prop or in itself.
not really directly applicable to the SR-20 but still somewhat interesting reading. He makes a point toward the end of the article wondering if the existence of the BRS in an aircraft makes the pilot more vulnerable to “stupid” risks, since they think they have a failsafe backup plan in case something happens.
In other news - I just sent my deposit and contract in last week - I am position holder #668, with “scheduled” delivery date 6/02!!
