22TN Heater blocked

My first post as a member.

I recently purchased a 2007 TN and the temperature control won’t go to heat. When I turn the temperature control knob it’s like it won’t go past the cold section and won’t turn to heat. I’ve had it for a week and I don’t recall it having this issue when I picked it up.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Was hoping before I send it in it was just a simple operator error I could remedy.

Thanks

The heater control controller in my G2 has never worked for more than a couple of flights. I think the whole wire push/pull thing is just janky and the set screw isn’t sufficient to keep the knob from spinning on the shaft when there is any binding. No answers except to replace the whole assembly, let me know if you find any secrets to it!

Justin, I had similar troubles with my 2008 SR22TN. The first problem discovered was the heater control box was installed incorrectly on the heels of an engine change. The second problem was the cables were binding and being interfered with by scat hose that was too long and was getting hooked into by the heater control cable.

100% correct. Just went through an engine change and scat hose was pressing against the control wire limiting movement. Just fixed it late last night and was going to post to the forum today so others were aware as well. Thanks for the reply.

Your post is in the guest forum. You will get far more information if you post on the member side.

Perhaps one of the moderators can move the post for you.

If you’re considering joining COPA as a full member, I highly recommend it. While the guest side of the forum is great for a preview, the real value lies on the members-only side.

Once you become a member, you’ll gain access to a vast number of posts and discussions that simply aren’t visible to guests. Many members choose not to post on the publicly facing side because it’s viewable by anyone on the internet, and they prefer the privacy and depth of conversations available exclusively in the membership area.

But it’s not just about the discussions—membership also comes with added benefits, including:

  • A monthly magazine filled with valuable insights, tips, and updates.
  • COPA Advantage discounts that can save you money on a variety of products and services.
  • Access to exclusive resources and tools that enhance your professional journey.

On the member side, you’ll find:

  • In-depth discussions on niche topics.
  • Valuable insights and shared experiences from fellow professionals.
  • A sense of community you can’t fully experience as a guest.

If you’re serious about engaging, connecting, and making the most of what COPA has to offer, membership is well worth it. Don’t miss out on the wealth of content, benefits, and connections waiting for you on the other side!

Thanks, I thought I was under the 1 year free membership (signed up in November) but having issues accessing the member page. I’d likely sign up afterwards but trying to navigate guest vs member side at the moment is a little challenging. It’s probably user error.

Justin, just to be clear, you can’t access the Member side because you are not a COPA member. Access to the Guest forum doesn’t constitute COPA membership.

It’s very confusing and it’s one of the reasons I’ve have advocated for literally decades that we do away with the Guest forum entirely.

Less than decades for me, but same feeling for years.

The minor SEO benefit we get from the guest forum is outweighed by the headaches.
