What’s with the factory reman after 700 hours?

What’s with the factory reman after 700 hours?

I second that question. 700 hrs? Seems low even if it was used as a flight school bird. Please advise what was found…etc.

At the risk of speculating, I wonder if the overtemp conditions described so often on this site caused an early engine overhaul. The story behind this one will be interesting especially if it forecasts the engine life of the rest of the fleet.

What’s with the factory reman after 700 hours? Dave, While in Duluth for routine maintenance, Cirrus pointed out what appeared to be a bird or prop strike. Cirrus, concerned for a cracked or broken crank insisted the engine be torn down and inspected. While no internal parts were found damaged it made economic sense to zero time the engine while it was torn down. The prop was also sent back to Hartzell and zero timed.
