Santa Fe, NM FDC Notam

President Bush is visiting Santa Fe this weekend. There is an FDC notam which is continuous until Monday morning. It is very difficult to determine the location of the do not fly area as it is not included in the FAA’s graphical notams http://www1.faa.gov/specialnotams/specialnotamlisting.htm

For those heading in that direction is is centered north of the airport and comes within 2 miles of the north side of the airport. If you come in from the west, including V62-263, should be clear of the area. It will be nice when all of these special notams are depicted on a graphical site. In the mean time you have to call the local ATC, 866-449-5390, to confirm the location of the no fly area. Over the weekend and on Monday there are additional FDC notams covering areas adjacent to Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

If you hear of a pilot being busted for violating the notam on Sunday send money.

They are, on DTC DUAT’s Graphical TFRs page, as well as AOPA’s graphical TFR page (mostly) and Aeroplanner’s TFR page.

The winner is Aeroplanner. I have book marked both for future reference. Thanks Gordon
