GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Cirrus Design Co. employees who were laid off two months ago could be back on the job by August, a company officials said.
Spokesman Bill King said March was a record production month for the airplane maker.
Cirrus has announced a proposed expansion of the plant at its main headquarters in Duluth, Minn., which could return 100 workers to that city.
In February, Cirrus cut its work force by 20 percent, including 20 workers in Grand Forks.
It’s working with Duluth leaders to get a $3.5 million federal loan to build a new plant. Company officials claim they have production orders for more than 650 planes, but a shortage of space to fill orders promptly.
