LANCAIR PRODUCTION RAMPS UP AS SUIT SETTLED:

LANCAIR PRODUCTION RAMPS UP AS SUIT SETTLED: AVweb reported on Monday that Lancair had filed suit against the country of Malaysia, seeking the funding it had been promised to support its operations. Yesterday, an agreement was reached and the suit was dismissed. The company is now focusing on ramping up its production line for the Columbia 300, with the target of producing one aircraft per day at its Bend, Ore., factory.

While noting with a sigh that no actual time reference is attached to the “one per day” estimate, it sure would be in everyone’s interest – including Cirrus’s – if Lancair can actually make this happen. Having genuine competition in good new airplanes would be a huge step forward for customers, for the business as a whole, etc.

and I don’t think Cirrus’ final production number is one per day or 300+maybe through the endo of the year…saw a small bit in a prior article that said they were in initial stages of seeking additional production facilities to take numbers to 600 per year…but that would not be this year…
