Garmon 430 radio fault

Has anyone has a radio fail in their Garmin430? One of mine has stopped transmitting, although it receives perfectly well. It will be sent to a service agent tomorrow.

Hi Mike,

I have had two “VLOC Failed” failures. The first time it was sent back to Garmin and it was repaired. It happened again just last week and Garmin promptly replaced, yes, replaced the unit.

Yes. Same thing happened to us. Garimin swapped it out for a new unit, no questions asked.

Yes, one of mine had a very weak receiver. It is currently being repaired. I have a loaner from Cirrus in the meantime. Other people have had the same problem. I’ve also had my Garmin audio panel fail (and been replaced). Garmin’s product failure rate seem terrible to me. If it were just my audio panel and a 430, I could chalk it up to bad luck, but I’ve heard of a number of failures even amoung just the 200 Cirrus’s.

My radio has been ok, but when I picked up the plane, GPS2’s display had dust between the layers of glass. Replaced, no questions.

The bad news: I also had a weak receiver.

The good news: Garmin replaced the whole 430, no questions asked.
