Cirrus Service Advisory SA 02-01

Cirrus SA 02-01 Dated 22 Feb 2002

 Cirrus Design has been notified by Ballistic Recovery Systems, The manufacturer of CAPS (Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System), of a condition discovered during routine testing that could cause the parachute not to activate in the event of an emergency. This condition affects on the activation cable and does not affect the parachute or the rocket. Cirrus recommends you not fly the aircraft until a field repair is available.

Cirrus is working with Ballistic Recovery Systems to develop the field repair and Service Bulletins and will have the repair available early next week. Operators should monitor the Cirrus Design Website (www.cirrusdesign.com) for additional information and notification of release of the field repairs.
