CD revamps website

I just noticed that Cirrus has their new website up (http://www.cirrusdesign.com). Saw some pictures I haven’t seen before, as well as other

new stuff.

Looks like they will have running total of produced planes under “what’s new”

currently 49…

I really don’t like the black background and it’s not easy to read the links on the left upper side, because of colors and small letters. They should check again the legibility of all information. Grey letters (on black) are also not the best choice, I believe…(configurations A,B,C)

Also 19 pages of specs with pictures…

pretty amazing stuff…

Very cool changes, but they took away the most useful piece of the website: The “updated July” in that bright yellow star. At a quick glance I could know if anything new was on the website and if it was put there since my last visit or not and could access all the new things with one click. It was very intuitive and a powerful tool. One of the most useful components on any web site I have visited on a regular basis. Cirrus if you read this…please…please…please put this “update” star back in.

I’m afraid that I can’t agree. Their new ebsite has become completly

inaccesable past the home page to my Linux based browser. The old site

worked perfectly well. Cirrus webmaster please take note. Maximum

compatibilty on a commercial website is the order of the day!

If you click hepl…they have downloads for IE explorer…and Netscape…

only two that will work…

Wonder if anyone else can comment on 19 page specs…had thought I had seen most of the stuff out on the plane and was impressed…

The 19-page spec sheet is identical to the one provided to position holders as the official discription of the aircraft for contract purposes.

I disagree that the new site is an improvement. Aside from the spec sheet, there seems to be much less detail on the new site, unless I just haven’t found it yet.

Joe

Does it give anyone else pause to wonder why CD continues to advertise an empty weight of 1950 lbs when the plane’s actual weight is some 100 lbs higher? Perhaps that’s what it was certified at and there required to list it at 1950. If they’re not in some way required to indicate an empty weight of 1950, “what’s up with that”? Just curious.

Regardless, I’ll be picking up N527MJ on 8/14 and excited to do so.
