Aileron and rudder interconnect

High everyone, I’m looking for information on an STC to remove the Aileron interconnect from a SR22.

You mean the SB? This one?

My CSC simply removed it and documented it at the annual, 15 minutes work.

Thank you all for your help

Did you need a new rudder when yours was removed?

A new rudder?? Why?

I just had mine removed when the new autopilot was installed, and was told that I needed a new rudder. That didn’t make sense to me…but maybe there’s something I don’t understand?

me neither. Your rudder trim tab will likely need adjusting.

No, you do not need a new rudder. The interconnect “bungee” between the rudder cable and the aileron cable is removed, and that’s it. It has nothing to do with the rudder itself which is always the same (i even think it’s the same rudder through all generations).

And that bungee is accessed from the floor panel in front of the rear seats, nowhere near the rudder itself.

Maybe that was it? Maybe the rudder trim was different somehow?

Don’t purchase the SB kit from Cirrus. It consists of a placard that they charge $400.00 for.

Exactly. I didn‘t buy it. Told CSC to remove it and document it. Ready.

I’m much happier with it gone. I enjoy the more “honest” feel of the aircraft. To me, I didn’t care for the unnatural feel in a cross wind. Just my opinion.
