The Garmin 430 and or ARNAV unit do not include a Traffic Proximity Alert System (TPAS). There are several low cost units available in the market that provide this function. Check pilot suppy shops such as Marv Golden Pilot Supplies | Aviation Gear & Accessories under new products for info on TPAS. for the Monroy Surechek unit.
These units are rudimentary. They show a presence of traffic within specified miles but provide no bearing or altitude data. Pilots who own them state they are nonetheless useful.
