Preheat - Cooldown

In conjunction with my other Posting regarding the comparison of Preheat with using cowl plugs or a cowl cover, I also documented the cooldown process after a flight using the cowl plugs. This was outside, on the ramp, with a wind speed of about 5-8 MPH.

Using only inlet plugs, the engine is still 50 degF above ambient 5 hours after shutdown.

Thanks for sharing this data. Gives some good rules of thumb to use.

John, I noticed that you are a COPA member but you have opened a couple of Cirrus threads in the public “Guest Discussion” forum. You would get WAY more readership and helpful responses if you post in the appropriate Member forum. Many members do not view the public “Guest” forum.
