Preferred routes

Does anyone know if ATC preferred routes are posted on the web anywhere, so we could look them up before a flight?

OK, I have the paper copies from Jeppesen but I don’t keep them well-organized.

DUATS (using Cirrus interface)

You can check here:

These are similar to the routes listed in the Jepp notes – you’ll want to most probably put in the major airline airports for “origin” and “destination” as many satellite GA airports are not listed.

(For example, going GAI to ACK doesn’t show any routes, but BWI to ACK or DCA to ACK do show up. GAI is a satellite of BWI.)

Also, I think (but am not 100% sure) that you want to ask for the “L” routes (low-altitude).

Steve,

Thanks for posting this web link!

Actually, it looks like the simplest thing to do is to leave the “Route Type” field blank. As an example, consider searching for routes from Santa Barbara, CA (SBA) to Montgomery Field in San Diego (MYF). I get the SoCal pref routes if I leave the “Route Type” field blank, but I get a “No data for given search terms” message if I enter L for “Route Type.”

Cheers,
Roger
