COPA Migration 2025 - Omni Amelia Island Resort - Continuing Thread

Unlike a CPPP, the partners taking the course at Migration will not have the opportunity to use a simulator lab.
However, if Noble or Real Sim Gear is there, I’d be surprised if they didn’t come with a sim having a CAPS handle to pull.
For more information let’s call in @tlewis & @shanevv

Hello COPA Migration Attendees,

Avidyne will be offering Vantage 12 demo flights to interested Entegra 1 owners on Thu, Fri, and Sat. The airplane will be at Bent Wing Flight Services.

You can choose a slot and sign up at Calendly. It will show the available the currently slots. Select the one you want and complete the appointment page. Please put you mobile in your notes so we can contact you if necessary. Also let us know in the notes if you have need a ride over to Bent Wing - we can provide one from the Omni lobby.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing everyone!

@ethannarber No partner in command this time?

I’m looking into that as well

There will be a Partner Course put on by @megan and her hubby @shanevv

Noble has agreed to let us use a CAPS handle during the partner course! Such a valuable experience for the partners.

Shoot, I want to pull that thing too!

Any recommendations for a fuel and lunch stop between NYC and Amelia Island? Will be with our bulldog, so outside and casual would be ideal.

It’s awesome, actually. I got to try the one on the Noble sim at CPPP Palm Springs. Do it if you can.

KCRE and KMYR are good spots. KMYR should let you use the GEM car and its short ride to a couple of spots with outdoor seating. KCRE has a couple of picnic tables if wanted to order Uber Eats. Short ride to Barefoot Landing as well with a couple of outdoor sitting places also that accept pooches. I live in sight of KCRE and am based at KMYR.

I picture worth a thousand words… or a few emojis. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth::enraged_face::face_with_symbols_on_mouth::face_with_steam_from_nose:

Hey Morgan. Central- South Jersey launch for me. When are you leaving?

Being there is the most import thing. How you got there is secondary. At least you’re flying and not driving  I know, its not the same…

I will say that I drove from Las Vegas to Scottsdale with Bill Frank last year.

We had a great drive so engrossed in conversation we were (Wanna guess the topic) we missed many exits. And there aren’t that many from Vegas to Phoenix.

How did you discover it? Any symptoms?

Far better than asking why you had to pull the chute over a South Dakota cow pasture!

Happenstance. I took the plane in for an avionics issue and I asked them just to look everything over under the cowl, just for my piece of mind.
Maybe I wish I didn’t do that and happily went along my way unawares. (There have been no sypmtoms) But I’m told losing a cylinder is not much fun.

Left early for Migration this year from SoCal. Saturday was to Addison TX (KADS) for a nice steak dinner in Frisco with a friend, then Sunday to Fort Meyers FL (KRSW) for the night before launching this morning for my first ever trip to the Bahamas. I filed for 17,000’ to maximize my gliding distance but had to settle for 13,000’ due to freezing levels. Flight was uneventful except for having to go around at Marsh Harbour Airport (MYAM) due to my staying high over the water on the RNAV 9.

Just finished a nice lunch at my hotel, the Abaco Beach Resort. Will depart here on Wednesday for customs at Fort Pierce (KFPR) then up to Migration KFHB.
